The Silent Gliss 3840 Corded Curtain Track is a highly versatile and professionally engineered curtain track system designed for smooth and reliable corded curtain operation.

Suitable for both residential and commercial applications, the 3840 is particularly popular for ceiling-fixed installations thanks to its discreet appearance and hidden fixing arrangement. When ceiling fixed, the fixing bracket is concealed beneath the track, leaving only a small section visible from behind. This creates a clean and symmetrical appearance, making the 3840 especially suitable for room divider applications where both sides of the track remain visible.

The track is capable of supporting medium to heavy weight curtains and offers a choice of glider options depending on the application. Standard friction gliders are suitable for medium weight curtains, whilst optional roller gliders provide smoother operation for heavier curtain installations. The 3840 is also compatible with Silent Gliss wave gliders, allowing the system to create a modern wave curtain heading with smooth, uniform folds and a tighter stack-back than traditional curtain headings.

Designed for flexibility, the Silent Gliss 3840 can be ceiling fixed or wall fixed using compatible brackets. It is particularly effective for top fixing flush to the ceiling, helping minimise light gaps and create a cleaner overall finish.

The system can also be professionally bent in our factory using specialist tooling, making it ideal for bay windows, curved windows and room divider installations. Gradual curves, reverse bends and semi-circular applications can all be manufactured with precision bending services and excellent craftsmanship.

1. Can the 3840 track be fixed to the ceiling?

Yes. The Silent Gliss 3840 is designed for ceiling fixing and sits flush for a sleek, unobtrusive look — ideal for bay windows, rooms with protruding window sills, or low headroom situations.

 2. Are the fixings included? Are they strong enough for plasterboard?

We provide No. 8 screws (1¼" wood screws) with the track. If you're fixing into plasterboard, we recommend using appropriate raw plugs or toggle fixings (also known as expanding fixings or plasterboard anchors) for added strength. Your local DIY store can advise based on your ceiling type.

3. Will I see the track above my curtains?

That depends on how you hang your curtains. If you are using 3-inch pencil pleat headings, you can adjust the hook position so the curtain sits just below or slightly in front of the track. The 3840 is beautifully finished, so it's designed to be seen — but it can also be hidden behind the curtain drop if preferred.

4. How deep is the track including gliders?

• Track depth: 2.1 cm
• Glider drop: 1.0 cm
• Total drop from ceiling: 3.1 cm
• Be sure to factor this into your curtain length if you're having them shortened or made to measure.

5. Is the cord mechanism visible?
No — the cord is hidden inside the track, so the pulley system isn't visible. It's smooth, silent, and discreet.

6. Can I get a colour sample before ordering?

Yes, we offer free colour samples, including popular finishes like Black and Antique Bronze. Simply request a sample on the product page or contact us directly.

7. What if the track is damaged in transit?

We use specialist packaging including foam protection and wooden battens, together with trusted couriers. In the unlikely event of damage, we will arrange a replacement at no extra cost.
